Roselle is an annual herbaceous plant or a perennial shrub; leaves are of different shapes, lower ones are ovate and not divided; flowers are borne in the axils of leaves, with the inner base being deep red, blooming between summer and autumn, with a long blooming period, corolla is yellow; the fruit is ovoid, seeds are kidney-shaped, deep grayish-brown.
