The first mistake is using a large pot for young seedlings.
When we first receive orchids, we need to choose a pot that is appropriate for the size of the plant, preferably a special orchid pot. This way, we can avoid problems when growing orchids. Take a look at this special pot; it has many ventilation holes.
The second mistake is removing the moss.
If there is moss on the roots of the orchid we purchased, we must remove it before potting. This moss may carry bacteria after long-distance transportation. We need to remove the moss and soak the roots in a diluted solution of fungicide before potting, which is beneficial for the growth of the orchid. Moreover, if the moss wraps around the orchid roots, it can grow on the outside.
The third point is that newly potted orchids should not be fertilized.
