How long does it take for tulips to bloom when hydroponically cultivated
Today's introduction to the knowledge of tulip blooming time in hydroponics and the growth stages of hydroponic tulips will surely be helpful to you. Let's learn about it together!
If we talk about hydroponic hyacinths or narcissus, they are very common. Have you ever tried to care for tulips using hydroponics? Actually, as long as you buy plump tulip bulbs, you can cultivate them using hydroponics, which is easy to grow leaves and bloom.

1. Hybrid varieties and original varieties:
The above is the native tulip variety
The tulip bulbs we buy in the market today are generally hybrid varieties, which basically bloom only once and then find it difficult to bloom again, with poor reblooming ability (even if they rebloom, the flowers in the second and third years are prone to variation). Therefore, it usually becomes an annual bulbous plant by buying new tulip bulbs every year. Commercially cultivated tulips rely on "tissue culture" for reblooming.

If you want to plant tulip varieties with good reblooming ability, you must choose "original tulips," which are wild species of tulips. Of course, you also need a suitable climate environment. In the south, if you want tulips to rebloom, you can only manually intervene in dormancy (put in refrigerator冷藏).

This type of original tulips, if planted in potting soil, will rebloom after the flowers fade, in 1 to 3 years. Most of these tulip plants are relatively small, with a slender shape and not particularly bright colors.
2. Tulip Bulb Vernalization
No matter what variety of tulip, it needs to go through low-temperature dormancy before it can bloom. Therefore, when buying tulip bulbs, you should ask the seller whether they have gone through refrigeration treatment. If it is a 5-degree bulb, it means it has gone through low-temperature treatment, and you can hydroponically or soil cultivate it at home to make it bloom. If you buy a natural tulip bulb, it hasn't been treated and needs to go through vernalization before it can bloom.
If you buy an un-vernalized tulip bulb, you can put them in a paper bag or wrap them in old newspaper and place them in the refrigerator (away from ripe fruit), maintaining a temperature of around 5-8 degrees, for about 1-2 months. Then take them out again, maintaining a temperature of 4-9 degrees, and occasionally check if they have germinated. If they have germinated, plant them immediately.
