Method of Cultivating Northern Lily crabapple
Plant Management Tips: This article covers related knowledge about cultivating Lily crabapple at home in the north, including the cultivation method of Northern Lily crabapple. Let's learn about it together.
Lily crabapple dislikes heat, and if the temperature exceeds 25 degrees, it may grow poorly. Above 28 degrees, it may enter heat dormancy. In the summer, it can be placed in a shaded area away from direct sunlight and avoid rainforest conditions, as excessive moisture in the soil can easily cause root rot. It prefers acidic cultivation media.
In Jilin, the highest temperature is around 30 degrees. Generally, it is placed on a sunny windowsill inside during winter for more sunlight. When the soil surface dries, water with rain or snow water (because most northern water and soil contain high levels of calcium and magnesium). However, it is necessary to spray more water around the plant to create a humid environment. Occasionally, a small amount of self-prepared nutrient solution containing nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace elements is added to the water.
Lesson: A pot of pink flowers that entered the house after summer grew exceptionally well. Since the top of the central branch was not useful (with several strong branches emerging from the bottom), cutting it helped reduce height and made it more aesthetically pleasing. However, no disinfection or antiseptic treatment was done, and a few days later, it was found to rot rapidly downwards. In a hurry, the decayed part was cut off and treated with streptomycin, and the whole plant was sprayed. But it was too late; most of it rotted away, leaving a small seedling.
