Tiger Claw Plant Introduction

Tiger claw is a twining, thorny plant of the Euphorbiaceae family, native to Madagascar. It is a popular indoor plant and is grown in gardens in tropical regions. It flowers all year round, with the most abundant blooming in winter in the Northern Hemisphere. The stem is slightly climbing, branched, and can grow up to more than 2 meters long. It has gray coarse spines, ovate leaves, and old leaves fall off. The flowers are small, borne in pairs in small clusters, and each cluster forms a dichotomous cyme. There are two pale red bracts on the outside, with small flowers. The bracts can be yellow or deep red. It is also known as Christ thorn, Tiger claw,麒麟花, and old (H) spine.
