Xizhiye Tephrocactus geometricus——belonging to the Sphaerocactus genus of the Cactaceae family, distributed in Argentina (Catamarca) and the Bolivia border. It forms small ball-shaped clusters with a gray-green/blue skin color, which can turn red-purple in full sunlight. The spines are relatively thin, about 2-5mm long, adhering and pointing downward. Xizhiye grows slowly, adding only one or a few small balls each year. Former names: Opuntia geometrica A.Cast. 1934, Tephrocactus alexanderi v. geometricus.
