Fleshy Grey-backed Pepper Plant Introduction

The Grey-backed Pepper Plant is a perennial evergreen fleshy herbaceous plant with a small stature, growing 8 to 15 centimeters tall. The entire plant is fleshy, with thick, gray-green leaves on the underside year-round, opposite or whorled, short petioles, about 1 centimeter in leaf length, leaves curling upwards on both sides, creating a groove in the center of the leaf surface, and the underside presenting a keel-like prominence. The leaf surface feels rough and is grayish-white, with a slightly transparent appearance. The inflorescence is club-shaped, green, and blooms in late spring and early summer.
