Chinese roses should be top dressed after the first bloom before summer. Now is exactly the time after the first bloom, which is the perfect time for top dressing.
The purpose of top dressing:
This top dressing is mainly to provide nutrients for the second bloom of Chinese roses and to store energy to combat the hot summer weather.
What kind of fertilizer should be used?
The top dressing mentioned here is a slow-release fertilizer, not a fast-release one. Fast-release fertilizers should be applied frequently, about once every 10 days, while slow-release fertilizers provide continuous nutrient supply and do not need to be applied as frequently.
Common slow-release fertilizers include fermented organic fertilizers, such as chicken manure and sheep manure, as well as inorganic fertilizers, which we commonly use, such as Ogreen fertilizer, which can be divided into slow-release and controlled-release fertilizers.
